Man Utd and Liverpool stars dominate scoring as Portugal smash Czech Republic

Fans of both Manchester United and Liverpool can take confidence from the fact that their Portuguese stars have shone for the Selecao during the latest round of Nations League fixtures.

Portugal made the trip to Prague to take on the Czech Republic and made light work of their opponents, running out 4-0 victors with all of their goals being scored by Premier League talent. United boss Erik ten Hag will be delighted, with Red Devils stars Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes on hand to net three of the four goals scored.

Liverpool's Diogo Jota added a fourth late on to put the game beyond any doubt. Dalot was very much the man of the hour though, with the right-back scoring a brace and enjoying a remarkable game that has gone some way to explaining why Ten Hag prefers to use him over £50million-man Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Not only did Dalot score twice, he also won 100 per-cent of the tackles he attempted as well as completing every single dribble. The former AC Milan loanee also boasted a 94 per-cent pass accuracy come the full-time whistle, including two long passes.

Firm in the tackle, Dalot came out on top in two of the three ground duels he went in for while his shot accuracy looks mightily impressive with his two attempts on goal both ending up in the back of the net. The 23-year-old has featured in every single game United have played this season.

In stark contrast, his competition Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed four minutes worth of playing time when he was introduced in the last knockings of United's 2-1 win at home to Liverpool last month.

Old Trafford favourite Fernandes also got on the scoresheet, adding Portugal's second. The midfielder was given too much time and space in side the opposition six-yard box and made no mistake from close range, ensuring it has been a positive start to the international break for some of United's representatives.

The attacking midfielder hasn't quite managed to find his goal-scoring touch so far this term, with just one goal for United in eight outings across all competitions.

Jota's goal will spark some home among the Anfield faithful that he can recapture the kind of form that made him so potent for the majority of his time at the club. This season has not gone to plan for the 25-year-old, with Jota playing a combined total of 103 minutes across all competitions - just ten of those coming in the Premier League.

Jota has had to contend with a persistent hamstring injury that has kept him out of Klopp's side, but this performance could be the one to kickstart his campaign for club as well as country.
