Manchester United and Arsenal had ambitions of playing Champions League football this season but find themselves in the Europa League after below-par Premier League campaigns.
It means a host of interesting trips across the continent over the course of the competition and they discovered what lies ahead when the group stage draw took place earlier this week.
The fixture lists have now been announced for European competitons, with Manchester United starting and ending group E against Spanish side Real Sociedad. In between those games, they will face trips to Moldova and Cyprus to face Sheriff Tiraspol and Omonoia respectively.
Arsenal, meanwhile, begin their campaign in Zurich and will also face Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, led by ex-Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt.
