Here is a round-up of the latest Nottingham Forest news on Tuesday, July 4.
£120m dream transfer window
July will be an important month for Nottingham Forest as Steve Cooper ’s side look ahead to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
It is a big pre-season for the squad as they aim to kick on, and their first friendly of the summer takes place on July 15. Transfer activity is also expected to ramp up in the coming weeks as the Reds await their first signing and look to oversee some outgoings.
The business done will not be on the same scale as last year, when 22 new arrivals came through the City Ground doors on the back of promotion being secured. Cooper has said “more normal” numbers are expected this time around.
But that means getting the right players in is particularly important. With that in mind, in our version of fantasy football, we have a look at the signings who could make a difference for Forest next term in what would represent a dream transfer window.

Forest have Lodi transfer hope as ‘contact’ made
Nottingham Forest have not completely ruled out a summer move for last season’s loanee Renan Lodi, according to reports in Brazil.
The Atletico Madrid defender spent last season on loan at the City Ground as he helped the Reds to maintain their place in the Premier League at the end of the season. He impressed with his performances, so much so that Steve Cooper was keen to make the move permanent this summer.
Forest have however run into a problem with a number of clubs said to be interested in the player this summer. The player’s agent has now also suggested that he has an eye on playing Champions League football in the new season.
Forest confirm surprise appointment
Steven Reid has returned to Nottingham Forest as a first-team coach ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The former Republic of Ireland international left the City Ground last summer, following a two-year spell at the club. He wanted to take up a new challenge and said he planned to offer his services as a specialist coach “helping people improve their mental well-being, confidence, and leadership”.
However, he has now returned to Steve Cooper’s staff as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign. It will come as a big boost for Forest, given how Reid played a key part in their promotion back to the top-flight prior to his departure.
"I am absolutely delighted to return to Nottingham Forest,” Reid said. "It is a club that has stayed close to my heart for many reasons, firstly because of the amazing journey to promotion, but also because of the support I felt from within the club and the amazing fanbase when stepping away from football to do some work around mental health and well-being. I have remained close to Steve (Cooper) and many of the coaching staff and players and cannot wait to get going again."
Man United transfer ‘agreement’ claim
Manchester United have reportedly reached an ‘agreement’ with Nottingham Forest linked Sofyan Amrabat over a summer transfer to Old Trafford.
Forest have been credited with an interest in the Moroccan international, with it claimed that both Forest and West Ham were following the player this summer. But it now seems that United may have taken a lead in any transfer race.
According to Italian outlet La Nazione (via SportWitness ), the Red Devils are ‘strongly interested' in the 26-year-old this summer. The report goes onto say that an ‘economic agreement’ has been reached between the player and Man United, although the club still need to agree a fee with the player’s current club Fiorentina.
