Manchester United are targeting Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana but the shot-stopper has a history with former Liverpool star Rigobert Song.
At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag is searching for improvements and has already welcomed Mason Mount from Chelsea after ending the saga surrounding the England international. Strike options and reinforcements between the sticks with David de Gea becoming a free agent upon the expiry of his contract after 12 years.
The Manchester Evening News has reported that the Red Devils have made the Cameroon goalkeeper, Onana, their "prime target" should they move for a new number one this summer. A move would see the 27-year-old reunite with Ten Hag following their time together at Ajax.
Currently, there is a predicament in Manchester. Despite officially becoming a free agent at the beginning of July, United still want to hold discussions over a possible extension with the Spaniard.

United's target, Onana, was forced to miss the remainder of the World Cup in Qatar after he was reportedly got into an altercation with manager, Song.
The 47-year-old spent two years at Liverpool making 38 appearances during his time in the defensive ranks at Anfield. His Cameroon side failed to make it out of the group stages despite beating record-holders in their final game after picking up just one point against Serbia and Switzerland - the only game the Man United target played in.
A report from the Mail Online in November claimed that Song took the decision to remove Onana from the squad following a 'blazing row' with the former Reds man.
It was reported that the manager took grievance with Onana's style of play with the goalkeeper lambasted for taking too many risks. He was subsequently replaced by Abha goalkeeper Devis Epassy.
Cameroon have played seven games since the incident, five of which in 2023 winning just once against Congo.
