Man United 'making good progress' with Marcus Rashford contract talks and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly making good progress in their contract talks with Marcus Rashford and hope to pair him with England teammate Harry Kane next season.

According to the Telegraph, negotiations are 'headed in the right direction' as the club looks to keep the 24-year-old forward at Old Trafford beyond his current deal. Rashford is out of contract at the end of next season, but he is expected to remain with his boyhood club.

It adds that any new deal for Rashford is likely to bring him level with the likes of David de Gea - who is said to be on £375,000-a-week - and the club's other top earners. Moreover, United are keen for the attacker to line-up alongside Kane, who remains the club's first-choice striker target in the summer.

MEN Sport understands Kane is Erik ten Hag's prime striker target to reinforce the United attack in the summer. It is believed the Dutchman is intent on signing the 29-year-old as he approaches the final year of his contract. Meanwhile, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen remains of interest to the Reds.

Elsewhere, Football Insider have reported that Fulham will demand in excess of £50million for midfield ace Joao Palhinha this summer, with several sides thought to be interested in the player.

It claims United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are all interested in Palhinha following his outstanding debut season in the Premier League, while Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also been touted as a potential destination. The report adds that the Portugal international is keen to play for one of Europe's elite sides

Palhinha, who signed from Sporting CP last summer, is under contract until 2027 at Craven Cottage. He has made 36 appearances in all competitions this season, registering four goals.
