Harry Kane's future at Tottenham Hotspur has been placed further into doubt with Manchester United including the 29-year-old on their summer shortlist of striking options. Napoli star Victor Osimhen and RB Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko join Kane on the list of potential recruits as Erik ten Hag hopes to bring a world class attacker to the club in 2023.
United were hopeful of signing Cody Gakpo to fill that void in January but were beaten to the punch by Liverpool. The decision was then made to bring in Wout Weghorst on a temporary basis from Burnley, cutting his previous loan at Besiktas short.
The 30-year-old made his United debut in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace and while his pressing and hold up play were useful tools for the Red Devils in the game, the absence of a clear goal scoring number nine is evident. This is where Kane, along with Sesko and Osimhen, come into the picture.

Ever since Kane's emergence on the grandest stage of football, United have seemingly been interested in signing him, and he very nearly left north London in the summer of 2021 for the blue half of Manchester.
Ultimately, a move never materialised and the arrival of Antonio Conte as manager certainly helped soften the blow of not departing his boyhood club. A winning manager arriving in N17 undoubtedly made the England captain hopeful the Italian would match his ambition. However, after 14 months in charge, concerns are beginning to grow about the long-term future of Conte at Spurs.
Kane sees his current contract expire in 2024, around the same time Conte's does if Spurs take up the one-year extension. Despite the Lilywhites' struggles this season, Kane has scored 17 goals from 29 games in all competitions, placing him one off Jimmy Greaves' goal scoring record of 266.
The summer of 2023 will be a key moment for Spurs and Kane as it will likely be the last opportunity for the club to secure a big fee for his departure if he does not extend his current deal. According to the Daily Mail, Spurs have slapped an £85million price tag on their star striker. Although, that figure is likely to increase for a rival Premier League side given Daniel Levy’s reluctance to sell Kane to a domestic rival.
