The door may have opened for Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson to make his stay at the City Ground permanent.
Man United are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper and Henderson has previously made clear his discontent about how he was treated by the hierarchy at Old Trafford. He jumped at the chance to join Forest on loan in the summer.
According to Greek outlet Sportime, Man United are "intensifying" their scouting of Benfica goalkeeper and Greece number one Odysseas Vlachodimos ahead of the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old is also the subject of interest from Forest's Premier League rivals Leicester City, who would welcome goalkeeping reinforcements following Danny Ward's below-par start to the season.
Whichever club he joins, it is likely to have a knock-on effect at the City Ground. If Leicester City receive a boost, they could pull clear of Forest in the table. If he moves to Old Trafford, it could open the door for Henderson to make a permanent move.
While supporters have largely cooled on Henderson since some impressive early displays, he still has a huge part to play under Steve Cooper this season and could yet prove himself to be a key player for the rest of the season.
