Man United injury news: Quadruple boost ahead of Sevilla tie as Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw train

Manchester United were handed a vital injury boost on Wednesday morning as Marcus Rashford returned to training.

The England striker was pictured working under Erik ten Hag alongside fellow fitness doubts Luke Shaw and Marcel Sabitzer.

An injury crisis has hit United in recent weeks, just as a crucial Europa League trip to Sevilla looms. The quarter-final tie is poised at 2-2.

Rashford came off in the recent win at Everton with a groin injury and missed the last two matches, as well as Monday’s session. Whether he is fit to start in Spain remains to be seen.

Likewise, Shaw could be in contention for Sevilla having previously been tipped by Ten Hag to have a chance at facing Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Austrian midfielder Sabitzer was pulled from the line-up at the City Ground following an issue in the warm-up and the United boss had initially kept his cards close to his chest on the player’s complaint.

Tyrell Malacia also featured having missed the Forest trup with a knee complaint.

However, Scott McTominay did not feature in the session despite appearing to be close to a comeback from his knock.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez recently joined the team’s lengthy injury list, with the Argentine defender undergoing surgery on a broken bone in his foot.
