A large police presence was reported in The Meadows overnight following reports of a serious assault. Nottinghamshire Police said a man in his early 20s suffered a single puncture wound following the incident on Friday evening (December 30).
Officers have issued a statement which says they are investigating reports of a serious assault in The Meadows area of Nottingham.
The statement says the victim, a man in his early 20s, was treated for a single puncture wound in hospital following the assault, which happened in the Wilford Crescent area.

His condition is not life-threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital. Police said they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.
Detective Inspector Pamela Dowson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working to understand what happened and our investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional who has not already spoken to us is asked to call 101 quoting incident 684 of 30 December 2022."
