Man traced in connection with terrorising women on Scots canal path after indecently exposing himself

A man has been traced in connection with several incidents of indecent exposure along a Glasgow canal path which left three females, including a 14-year-old, 'distressed' and 'upset'.

We previously told how police were hunting for a pervert wearing an 'I don't care' top who flashed two women and a teenager in three separate incidents on Friday, April 22.

The events took place on the canal path between Lock 27 pub, Crow Road and Kelvindale railway station, Cleveden Road in the Anniesland area of the city.

The suspect first exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl around 4pm.

Fifteen minutes later, the same man exposed himself to a 30-year-old woman.

A 41-year-old woman was then flashed at 5.25pm.

Police initially said they had stepped up patrols in the area to reassure the local community.

They also appealed to the public for any information that could help with the investigation, and studied CCTV footage to identify the culprit.

Following these enquiries, officers have now confirmed that a 25-year-old man has been traced in connection.

Detective Constable Paul Houston of Pollok Police Station previously said: “The suspect did not approach the women or speak to them but they were upset as a result of these incidents.

“Officers have carried out enquiries and are studying CCTV footage from the local area to gather more information on the man responsible.

"We fully appreciate that incidents of this nature can cause alarm within the local community, and while none of the victims have been approached by the suspect, they are still distressing to witness.

"As a result, we have stepped up patrols in the area to provide public reassurance while our investigation continues.”
