A man has been charged with firearms offences following an incident that saw police close a section of Belfast City Centre.
Officers closed off a section of Fisherwick Place on Thursday, May 12, for a couple of hours as they responded to an incident close to the Jury's Inn hotel.
There was a large police presence in the area following the incident, with police ATOs and crime scene investigators also arriving at the scene.
A 37-year-old has since been arrested and charged with carrying an imitation firearm in public, along with possession of Class A and Class C controlled drugs.
He is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday, May 14.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A 37 year old man has been charged with carrying a firearm in a public place (an imitation firearm), possession of a Class A controlled drug and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
"He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday May 14. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
