A man in his 30s is set to appear in court this morning following a "serious assault" in the city centre on Sunday morning.
A man and a woman were arrested in relation to the attack that took place between 2:45am and 3:30am.
The woman in her 20s has been released.
The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital with "serious but non-life threatening injuries" as a result of the assault.
A spokesman for the gardai said: "Gardaí investigating a serious assault on Upper Gardiner Street in Dublin 1 on Sunday, 13th February 2022, have charged a man.
"The man, aged in his 30s, will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning, Monday, 14th February 2022."
They added: "A woman (20s) who was arrested as part of this investigation has since been released. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions."
