A man who told his wife he would win the lottery had the last laugh after scooping a whopping $100,000.
Patrick Daniels, from Tryon in Polk County, North Carolina, US, bought a $1 (£0.80) Quick Pick Cash 5 lottery ticket on the evening of 7 December.
The 61-year-old purchased the ticket from Tryon Food Store and told his wife he would be a winner.
But despite her reservations Patrick believed in his lucky ticket and he was set to win a staggering sum of money - which would arrive just in time for Christmas.
In a statement he said: "I told her, 'Tonight I'm going to win the lottery.'

"And then bam, I wake up this morning and I won. It's incredible."
Patrick admitted his day began on 8 December relatively normally as he woke up, made his kids some packed lunches for school and went to have a coffee with his wife downstairs.
But he was left shocked when he glanced at his ticket and realised he won a staggering $100,000 (£81,500).
He said: "I made the kids lunch for school, made some coffee for me and my wife, then I sat down and checked my tickets.
"I was dumbfounded. I showed my wife so she could confirm it."
Patrick reportedly matched all five white balls in Wednesday's drawing and hit the jackpot.
After he arrived at North Carolina Education Lottery's headquarters at 2728 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh the next day, he collected a total of $71,014 (£57,800) following state and federal taxes.
When asked how he plans to spend his money, Patrick said he would buy his family Christmas gifts and save the rest of it.
He added: "They are going to have a nice Christmas that's for sure."
The lottery win comes just days after a petrol station in New Bern near North Carolina, US, saw Ray Flowers Jr, 66, win $1million (£840,000) on a scratchcard.
He revealed he first thought about buying a cheap scratchcard at the Fuel Market on 110 Riverdale Road.
The sales merchandiser randomly changed his mind and bought a $10 (£8.20) Jumbo Bucks instead, and was blown away when he saw that he had won the $1 million (£820,000) jackpot.
Mr Flowers reflected back on the winning moment and said: "Something just drew me to that one.
"I was probably more dumbfounded than anything else"
He then immediately headed home to show his wife the scratchcard, who at first thought her husband was joking.
The 66-year-old lucky winner, who plans to semi-retire, said: "She didn't believe me. She thought it was a fake ticket."
