One resident told the M.E.N: "I was walking past when a chap who was covered in blood was being wheeled out. It looked bad. He was covered in blood and had an oxygen mask on. There appeared to be some urgency. There was a stabbing here just a few days ago."
He reported the incident happened on the afternoon as people were watching the new king and queen parade on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Pictures from the scene in Middleton showed an air ambulance landing in fields nearby. It is understood the injured person was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.
The M.E.N. has approached Greater Manchester Police for a comment.
