A man was rushed to hospital following a crash on the A1 near Durham on Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred between Bowburn and Bradbury on the southbound carriageway near the Bradbury interchange at around 6pm. The road was closed until 8.20pm as work to clear the vehicle got under way and emergency services were on the scene.

One ambulance crew was sent and support was also requested from the Great North Air Ambulance Service. One man was then taken by road to James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called just before 6pm yesterday (May 17) to a single-vehicle collision on the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) near Bradbury interchange.
"A man was taken to hospital as a result of the incident. The road was closed until 8.20pm to allow the Great North Air Ambulance to attend the scene and allow for recovery of the vehicle.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A1 southbound shortly after 6pm.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was transported by road to James Cook Hospital."
