Man taken to hospital as air ambulance responds to motorbike smash

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a crash in Salford.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the scene of the smash on Edward Avenue in the Weaste area at around 5.30pm yesterday afternoon (Monday). An air ambulance also landed nearby.

An eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News that the bike had reportedly collided with a lamppost. A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said the rider - a man aged in his 20s - suffered a head injury.
