Man taken to hospital after Newport assault

A man has been taken to hospital following an alleged assault in a residential area. Police received reports regarding the welfare of a man on Ludlow Close, Newport, at around 2.45am on Sunday, April 17.

Police and Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene. A man was taken to hospital however police do not believe his injuries to be life-threatening. Officers have now launched an appeal for information or CCTV footage regarding the incident.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We’re appealing for information after an assault in Ludlow Close, Newport, on Sunday 17 April at around 2.45am. The man has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
