A MAN has been taken to hospital following a collision on a busy commuter road in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to the A760 between Kilbirnie and Lochwinnoch at 12.20pm on Friday, May 17.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing an air ambulance in the area as well as police officers at the scene.
Police Scotland have now confirmed that the response was required following a collision between a motorbike and a motorhome.
The rider of the motorbike has since been taken to hospital. It was not confirmed what hospital this was or if they were taken by ambulance or helimed.
Officers added that the road is currently closed in both directions as enquiries remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.20pm on Friday, May 17, 2024 we were called to a collision involving a motorbike and a motorhome on the A760, Lochwinnoch to Kilbirnie road. "Emergency services attended and the 37-year-old male rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital. "The road is closed in both directions and enquiries are ongoing."
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
