A man wanted on suspicion of murder in Staffordshire has travelled to London, detectives believe.

Staffordshire Police are seeking Georgian Constantin in connection with the death of a 40-year-old Valentina Cozma in a fire on Campbell Road, in Stoke-on-Trent, last Thursday.

Officers believe the 42-year-old has travelled to London from his home in Stoke, and urge members of the public to call 999 if they see him.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison, of Staffordshire Police, said: “Officers from across the force are working hard to trace Georgian. Could you help?

“We are urging anyone who can help us to locate him to get in touch as soon as possible. We believe Georgian has travelled to London and also has links to Southampton.

“Members of the public should not approach this man, but if you see him, please contact us immediately on 999.”

An appeal was also issued by officers in Romanian.

The victim died in a house fire around 3.10pm on February 9. Officers said Ms Cozma’s family are being supported.

They have appealed for witnesses on the street between 2pm and 3.30pm, between the junctions of Corporation Street and Boothen Old Road.

Police are also probing whether there have been any other sightings or evidence in surrounding streets.

Anyone with information can contact Staffordshire Police on the link here or by calling 101 quoting incident 440 of 9 February.
