Man suffers head injury after mass brawl breaks out in gym

A four-man fist fight broke out in the middle of an Aintree gym.

Police were called to Everlast Gym on Ormskirk Road, next to Sports Direct, at around 10.25am today, February 28, after receiving reports of the mass brawl, which left one man with a head injury.

Video footage shared with The ECHO showed two pairs of men scuffling among the weights and cycling machines at the gym, throwing multiple punches. One combatant appeared to flee across the gym, with another giving chase before returning the the two still-fighting men and punching one of them at least three times.

Other gym goers gathered around, and the fight was broken up by a woman.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that officers were in Aintree following an incident earlier today, Tuesday 28 February.

"At around 10.25am, officers were called to Everlast Gym on Ormskirk Road to reports of fighting between males at the location. A man in his 20s subsequently attended hospital with a head injury."

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC with reference 251.

Everlast Gym has been approached for comment.
