A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after a fatal two car crash.
Emergency services were called to the crash, at the junction of Green Lane and Guernsey Road, at 2.30pm on Sunday, February 5. Police reported a Vauxhall Meriva and a Mercedes were involved in the crash and the road was closed.
Two people, the front seat passenger and driver in the Mervia, were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Police later confirmed that the passenger, a 79-year-old woman, died a short time later.

Officers have now revealed that the driver, an 83-year-old man, remains in hospital with serious injuries. A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving and drug driving.
He has been released on bail as enquiries continue. Detective sergeant Amy Murray, from the Matrix serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts at this time are with the family and friends of the lady who sadly passed away yesterday.
"We are continuing to make enquiries and would ask anyone who was in the area of Green Lane and Guernsey Road at around 2.30pm who witnessed anything or captured anything significant on the dashcam to contact us as a matter of urgency.
