A man is being treated for stab wounds after being attacked by two men in a Scots park.

The 33-year-old had been in Meadow Park in Bathgate at around 6pm on Saturday, September 3.

He was approached by two men who came in the Meadowpark Avenue entrance, threatened him and then seriously assaulted him.

He was rushed to St John’s Hospital in Livingston where police say he is currently being treated for lacerations.

Hospital staff have described his condition as stable following the assault.

Police Scotland have described the suspects and appealed to the public to help trace those responsible.

The first suspect has been described as white, aged between 20-30, around 5ft 7ins tall and of large build with a beard.

He had been wearing a blue hooded top at the time of the attack.

The second suspect is described as white, between 20-30-years-old, around 5ft 5ins in height and of slim build.

He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey jogging trousers.

Detective Constable David McDougall said: “Our enquiries are continuing to trace the two men who are responsible for this attack.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed this incident take place, or who has any information that may assist our investigation to contact officers through 101 with reference 2928 of 3 September.
