A man who was fighting for his life after being stabbed remains in hospital.
The victim was attacked at around 9.30pm on Monday, March 21, and suffered serious injuries. Police were called to the scene of the stabbing, on Duke Street, Birkenhead and found the vicitm near the area of Park Road West and Ashville Road.
He was taken to hospital and described as being in a critical condition. However police have today confirmed that he remains in hospital in a stable condition.

After the stabbing, officers stayed at the scene and found a suspect on Ashville Road. They confirmed that after a chase a suspect, a 31-year-old man, was caught by police.
The man, from Claughton, was then arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. He was taken into custody and will be questioned by police but has since been bailed with conditions.
Officers remained at the scene on Duke Street for most of yesterday to carry out CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries. Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information is asked to contact police.
Detective Inspector Darren Hankin said: "This was an appalling incident which has left a man seriously injured. The swift arrest yesterday shows that we will not tolerate weapons and those who seek to use them to cause fear and harm in our communities.
"We have unfortunately in recent months seen the catastrophic consequences of knife crime on Merseyside and we simply won’t stand by and allow people to carry knives and threaten the safety of themselves and others. While we have made one arrest, our extensive enquiries into the incident last night continue and our officers remain in the Duke Street area while our investigation progresses.
"If you were in Birkenhead last night and witnessed anything or have any information, the please let us know. Similarly if you were driving down Duke Street and have dashcam footage then please review it and tell us if you see anything.
