Man 'stabbed' after fight breaks out inside home with four arrested

A man was taken to hospital after a suspected stabbing inside a home in Fallowfield.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene on Derby Road at around 9.20am this morning (Thursday) following reports of a 'disturbance'. A group of males were found fighting inside a property, police said.

One man had a puncture wound to his stomach and laceration wound to his head. He was rushed to hospital from the scene, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said a knife was found inside the property. Four men have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

This afternoon, a cordon remains in place on the street near the junction with Exbury Street. Crime scene investigators have been pictured at the scene.

Anyone who has any information about what happened is being urged to contact police. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to an address on Derby Road, Fallowfield at 9.18am today, Thursday 27 October 2022 to reports of a disturbance.

"A group of males were found to be fighting inside a property on the road. One victim sustained a head laceration and a puncture wound to his stomach.

"He has been taken to hospital and the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. A knife was located in the property and a scene has been put in place. Four men have been arrested for S18 assault.

"Investigations are currently ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police Greater Manchester Police can be contacted via gmp.police.uk or 101. Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
