A Status Orange weather warning for low temperatures and icy conditions has been issued for a number of counties in Ireland for Wednesday night.
Some areas will even see temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius.
These conditions are almost certain to cause a few problems for those commuting to work or school tomorrow, mainly due the impacts it will have on the car.
There's nothing worse than heading out to your car in a rush only to find the windscreen is covered in ice.
Thankfully, there's lots of tricks you can use to de-ice your car.
Alternatively, you can try to prevent ice from forming in the first place. A man has gone vial after sharing his 'two second de ice trick', which works by stopping ice from forming, and even has the backing of an expert.
As TikTok user @tristanwalton13 points out, covering your windscreen in cardboard makes for a simple solution - and one that could save you lots of time in the mornings.
By adding a thin later of cardboard to the front of your car during bad weather, you can stop ice from forming. Demonstrating the method in a now-viral clip, the driver pulls cardboard from the top of his snow-covered windscreen, leaving behind a perfectly clear square.
While some commenters were amazed by the hack, others wanted more reassurance, as they thought the window did not look frozen over in the clip. Thankfully, drivers can rest assured, as the hack is also a favourite with the experts at Munster Tyres.
Sharing advice online on how to prevent an icy windshield, the tyre and car service centre recommended using a windscreen cover, which you can make from cardboard, cloth, or a rubber bath mat. The key is keeping the cover dry.
"Just spread it across your windshield and secure it with windshield wipers. Whatever you choose to cover your windscreen with should be dry. Have a carrier bag in your car to put your windshield cover in the morning," an expert advised.
They added that newspaper is not a good choice because it is too thin and you'll be left with ice that needs scraping off in the morning. In a similar fashion, they say you can cover your wing mirrors with a plastic bag, then use a rubber band to secure it.
Their de-icing tips other tips include using vinegar solution mixed with three parts vinegar and one part water, or using alcohol solution, made from a third water and two thirds rubbing alcohol. It is important to dilute the vinegar to prevent it from reacting with the rubber edge on your windscreen.
