Man shares bizarre bacon cooking technique that has left people asking 'why?'

Cooking bacon is one of those things that has divided opinions for many years - some prefer it only slightly toasted, while others refuse to eat it unless it's burnt to a crisp.

But when it comes to the way in which we actually prepare the breakfast food, there isn't much room for arguments. The grill or frying pan is usually the go-to, or more recently, the air fryer.

But one man has caused quite a stir on social media after demonstrating a bizarre way to cook bacon that he says is in fact 'the best' - an opinion that isn't quite shared by everyone.

The trick was shared on TikTok by Twisted, a food and lifestyle account that showcases some of the 'outrageous' things you can do with your meals to make them more interesting.

And a recent video the team posted about the 'best' way to prepare bacon certainly does add a little something extra to the dish.

In the clip, one of the team at Twisted stands before a few strips of bacon lying out on a worktop, and he gets to work on cooking them until they're perfectly crisp - using a hair curling tong.

In the video's voiceover he says: "You know that thing you've been using as a hair curler all these years? Well, I'm sorry to say you've been using it wrong."

He then wraps a piece of bacon around the barrel of the hot curling tong, keeping it in place with the clip, and the bacon begins to sizzle and steam as it cooks.

The man added: "It's actually a great way to cook bacon if you don't have a pan or an oven. Game-changer."

Sure enough, the bacon ends up perfectly crispy and the man carefully lifts it off the curling iron and begins to tuck in.

In the video's comments, opinions were fairly divided, with some people appearing to be more impressed than others.

"I tried this and my bacon tasted like my heat protector spray," someone admitted.

Another person wondered: "Who does not have a pan but has a hair curler?"

But others were more intrigued by the idea, with one person saying: "Everybody's so creative."

Someone else wrote: "Omg brilliant."
