A man claims to have been served a drink filled with dirt from a Merseyside McDonald's.
The man, who doesn't wish to be named, had visited the Earlestown branch of the fast food giant. After reaching the bottom of his Oasis drink, he removed the lid to find lots of black specs all over the cup.
Disgusted, the man filed a complaint immediately, as well as posting to social media to warn others. In a post he said: "If you go to the Maccies in Earlestown check your drinks, not cleaned the machine in a while."

The post received hundreds of comments, many from people who had visited the branch themselves. One person said: "Good on you for complaining though. If all of you who have had bad experiences complained then they'd feel more pressure to improve things. And definitely someone contact environmental health before they make someone really ill. "
The ECHO contacted McDonald's in response to these claims. A spokesperson for the company said: "We place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections. We are sorry that on this occasion we have not met those standards.
"If any customer does have a concern, we encourage them to either speak to a member of the crew in the restaurant or get in touch with our customer services team.”
