A man who was attacked by a saltwater crocodile in the remote Northern Territory earlier this week has been flown to a Sydney hospital specialising in trauma for further treatment.
The 29-year-old was attacked on Thursday on a remote station near the town of Daly River, south of Darwin, where NT Police say he was collecting crocodile eggs.
His right leg was wounded in the attack.
The man underwent surgery at Royal Darwin Hospital on the same day for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was in a critical condition on Friday.
On Saturday afternoon, NT Health said the man was now in the care of the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.
According to the hospital's website, its specialties include major trauma and acute care surgery.
A spokeswoman for the Northern Sydney Local Health District said the man was currently in a serious but stable condition.
NT WorkSafe is investigating the incident.
