Man seriously injured in crash on major road

A man was seriously injured in a crash which closed a main road for hours. Off-duty firefighters resuscitated a motorcyclist who had been found in cardiac arrest on Sunday after a Milford Haven crash involving his bike and a car.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said officers attended the scene at about 5.10pm on the A4076 Steynton Road, Steynton. A black Honda motorcycle and grey Audi A3 had collided.

"The male rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries," said the spokeswoman. "The road was closed and reopened at 11.50pm."

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the motorcyclist was resuscitated by two off-duty firefighters. "The casualty, who was in a critical condition, was conveyed to hospital by ambulance," they added.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police either online at bit.ly/DPPContactOnline, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101.
