Man seriously injured after being struck by car in Louth as gardai appeal for witnesses

Gardai are appealing for information about a collision in Co Louth that has left a man in serious condition.

The incident involved a car and a male pedestrian.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses of a serious road traffic collision in Dundalk, Co Louth. It took place at Martin’s Cross on the R215 in Rossmakay at 9:50pm on March 27.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he remains in a serious condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Road users who were in the area shortly after the crash and have dashcam or other footage are asked to get in touch with the Gardai.

They are also calling on anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Gardai in Dundalk or in their local station.

A spokesperson from An Garda Siochana said: “Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

“Any road users who were travelling on the R215 in Rossmakay between 9.45pm and 10pm and who has camera (including dash cam) footage, is asked to make this available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with information can contact Dundalk Garda Station at 042 398 8400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
