A man admitted affray after he responded to a text message by a contact to go to a Nottingham takeaway after an argument. Qasim Anwari, 30, of Corporation Road, Leicester, was one of three men who arrived outside Food Express, Mansfield Road, Nottingham, after receiving a text message saying there was a fight at the shop and they should come over as soon as possible.
Anwari's claimed he tried to break things up as people were drunk. But he accepted he was present and involved in the entirety of the disorder on October 27, 2019.
The prosecution had accepted it was not clear who inflicted the injuries to the victim - whose jaw and forearm were fractured, Nottingham Crown Court heard. Anwari has since apologised to him.
Mrs Justice Tipples noted on Monday (July 3) Anwari suffers from PTSD and an auto immune disorder. She imposed a 19-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and 30 rehabilitation activity days.
