Man scales balcony at Leeds high-rise flats in four-hour police stand-off

Police negotiators have successfully talked down a man from a balcony of a high-rise block of flats in Leeds this morning.

The drama took place in the early hours at Clayton Court, West Park. Emergency services rushed to the scene just after 4.30am on Tuesday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 4.31am today, officers attended an address in Clayton Court, West Park, Leeds, to carry out arrest enquiries in relation to a domestic incident at another address the previous evening. The suspect refused to leave the flat and went onto the balcony, creating concerns for his welfare.
