A man who is dating a woman 40 years younger than him says the they had 'instant chemistry' - but that his daughter 'isn't too happy' about the relationship.
David Simonini, 62, met Willow Silas, 23, in February 2022 and the pair quickly became inseparable.
When asked if there were any downsides to dating a younger woman by the Daily Star, the professional blackjack player said: “How could I have a downside. I’m dating Margot Robbie’s twin and besides that she is simply amazing.
“I’m crazy about Willow and I’m going to do all I can to never let her go.”
Last week model and actress Willow, from North Carolina in the US, insisted that David isn't her ‘sugar daddy’ – despite him wishing her a happy Thursday by gifting her a Mercedes AMG.
Now, speaking to Daily Star, David, whose eldest daughter is 13 years older than his girlfriend, had his own say about the almost 40-year-age gap relationship.
Explaining why age is just a number, he said: “Although I’m 62 I literally act like I’m in my 30s or younger. I’m crazy active travelling the world most weekends playing blackjack tournaments.
“During the week I’m a real estate developer and I work out three times a week - life just isn’t fast enough for me. I truly live everyday like it’s my last.”
And asked what attracted him to his 23-year-old girlfriend, David was not shy with his response.
He said: “As far as Willow, who wouldn’t fall for her? We had instant chemistry.
“In the beginning it was obviously her stunning looks but it has become so much more.
“She is actually more beautiful on the inside than out. She’s incredibly smart and talented.”
Despite finding his soulmate, David said his youngest daughter, 34, “isn’t too happy” while his eldest, 36, “probably just accepts his dad is a little crazy”.
But defiant David added: “Honestly I want them to accept Willow but if they don’t I just think ‘oh well’.
“I’m not putting my happiness on hold for anyone. Willow breathes excitement into me. She is so beautiful, sometimes I just stare at her."
But one person who is pleased about the courtship is Willow’s mum, who even believes David is “good” for her daughter.
David went on: “As far as her family, I've actually met a lot of them because I went to Easter dinner recently with her family.
“I haven’t met her father yet and that worries me a little but her mother and I get along so good.
“She actually thinks I’m good for Willow and has been nothing but supportive 110%.
“Two weeks ago I had breakfast with her mum, just the two of us. She gave me good advice at breakfast. She said Willow’s boyfriends in the past didn’t listen to her.”
The pair have spoken about one day having children together and getting married.
They are both currently parents – with Willow being a mum to a three-year-old.
However, the unlikely lovers currently live over an hour apart, something David is struggling with.
He said: “I miss her so much at night I get a little down actually. We have become this dynamic when we’re together that is a sensation like no other.
“We feed off each other and never stop smiling.”
David, unafraid to show his emotions, added: “When she smiles it’s everything to me. Oh yeah lol, I even had a song written about her.
“It’s called your smile is everything. I believe she got tears in her eyes when I sent that to her. I love seeing her smile. I just melt.”
