Man's leg and nose broken after being pushed from Tube platform in horror assault

A man suffered a broken leg and broken nose as he was pushed onto Tube tracks in a horror attack in east London.

Police on Friday issued CCTV images of two people they want to trace following the assault, which happened on May 16.

The victim was travelling down an escalator at Canning Town underground station around 7pm when a woman pushed him in the back, causing him to stumble, said British Transport Police (BTP).

When he reached the platform he was then pushed from behind “with force” by a man.

He fell between the Tube platform and a train, and broke his leg.

“The man also punched the victim several times to the face, breaking his nose,” said a BTP spokesperson.

“Officers believe the people in the images may have information that could help with their investigation.”

Anyone who recognises them is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 569 of 16 May 2024.
