Man's jaw drops as he shares plane seat headrest hack - that took 32 years to learn

Arguably, no one greater appreciates an essential life hack than frequent travellers.

In a bid to seek more comfortable measures for our travels - whether this is by car, bus, train or plane - it's always worthwhile to seek ways to make the journey a little easier.

It's no wonder, therefore, that a video has skyrocketed into viral stardom on the social media platform TikTok - after a man shared a little-known headrest hack that he discovered on a plane.

In the clip - which has already surpassed 12.6 million views to date - a woman shared her jaw-dropping reaction to a man's "airplane seat hack".

Initially, TikTok user @ strollinginthesuburbs shared a short clip of him adjusting the headrest on his seat.

By pulling at either side of the rest, he repositioned the cushioned part to position perfectly around either side of his head.

He captioned the post: " Took me 32 years to learn this one, but most people don’t realize that their airline headrest does this!"

The woman was gobsmacked after trying the hack herself (@footdocdana/TikTok)

Clearly gobsmacked by the essential tip, fellow TikToker @footdocdana - otherwise known as Doctor Dana - tried out the hack herself whilst she was mid-flight.

Following the initial video, the hack worked exactly as described - and the woman was left gobsmacked by the surprise.

"How'd I never know this?!" She asked.

Fellow social media users - who were also left stunned by the hack - quickly shared their thoughts on the little-known tip.

Some TikTokers were quick to claim that they wanted to book tickets to test the hack - whilst overs stumbled across an issue.

One user gushed: "It's the only thing that actually helped me sleep half okay on the plane."

"Me: No way, *goes to the airport and books a ticket to Bangladesh to try this*," a second added.

A third penned: "She bought an airplane ticket just to test this. That’s some real dedication!!"

"My head never reaches there," another wrote.

A fifth commented: "I am too short anyways."
