Police have today released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to, as they believe he could assist with their enquiries. They are appealing to the public to come forward if they recognise the man, or witnessed anything suspicious at the time of the incident.
Detective Inspector Katie Coote, of Merseyside Police, said: "This was an unprovoked and violent assault that left a man with a fractured jaw. We think the man pictured may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward.
"If you recognise this man, or these images remind you of anything suspicious you saw at around 1.30am on Wednesday, September 7 on Mathew Street, please do let us know. While some months have passed since the incident, we are still determined to find the person responsible for this assault."
