A man's body was pulled from the water of the Royal Canal in Dublin today as an investigation into the death has been launched.
The man was found dead at the Ballybough Bridge section of the waterway near Croke Park on Sunday afternoon at around 12.30pm.
His body was taken to Dublin City Mortuary where a post mortem examination will take place.
Gardai are appealing for information in relation to the man's death, and are particularly interested in speaking with people who may have seen anything unusual in the area as they investigate the circumstances.

A spokesperson for gardai said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a male body which was taken from the water of the Royal Canal at Ballybough Bridge this afternoon Sunday 21st August, 2022 at approximately 12.30p.m.
"The body has been removed from the scene and taken the City Morgue in Whitehall where a post mortem will be carried out in due course. An examination of the scene has taken place.
"Gardaí in Mountjoy are appealing to any persons who may have seen anything unusual in the area or can assist them to contact Mountjoy Garda station on 01 666 8600, the Garda Confidential line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda station.
"Investigations are ongoing."
