A 16 year old boy is being questioned about the stabbing death of a man known to him at a home on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Emergency services found the 42-year-old with stab wounds after being called to the address on Toyne St, Baringa just before midnight on Wednesday.
The man died of his injuries at the scene.
Acting Detective Inspector Phil Hurst said the man was an associate of the teenager's mother.
The family has lived at the rented home for around six months, and police have not previously been called to the address.
"The incident is still under investigation ... what we do know is there's been some sort of physical altercation where this person has received those injuries," Det Hurst said
"When young people arm themselves with knives, there can be tragic outcomes, and we've seen that again today where persons lost their life."
