Police are appealing for help to identify a man whose body was found on a beach at a Fife harbour on Boxing Day.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Cellardyke, near Anstruther, at around 8.30am on Monday, December 26, after the grim discovery was made.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His death is currently being treated as 'unexplained' by Police Scotland.
Despite extensive enquiries, officers have so far been unable to identify the man and have released a description of his appearance.
Investigators say he is around 6ft tall, of a slim to medium build with short dark hair and a goatee/facial stubble. He was wearing a distinctive blue t-shirt, jeans and white trainers when he was discovered.
Detective Inspector Stuart Hunter said: “Our enquiries so far have not been able to identify the man and we are asking members of the public if they can assist with our investigation.
“I would urge anyone who may be able to assist with identifying the man or had seen him in the area to get in contact with officers.”
