A man's body was found in "unexplained circumstances" in Co Meath on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood that the body was discovered wrapped in material by a member of the public who then alerted Gardai.
The scene, in a rural area near Ashbourne, is being preserved and the Garda Technical Bureau will conduct a technical examination.
Gardai have launched an investigation and the State Pathologist has also been notified.

A post-mortem on the body will take place, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Ashbourne are investigating the discovery of a body in unexplained circumstances this afternoon Saturday 10th December, 2022.
"The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination will be conducted by the Garda Technical Bureau, who are en route.
"The office of the State Pathologist have been notified. The results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
"No further information is available at this time."
