A man's body has been discovered in the River Mersey next to a tip.
Emergency services including police officers, fire crews and the ambulance were called to reports of a man in the River Mersey next to Woolston Waste Disposal Centre in Warrington at around 9.15am today, February 11.
The man sadly died at the scene.

A cordon is in place near to the recycling centre reports The ECHO.
The tip was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, however this was reopened at around 11.30am.
Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 9.15am today, Friday, February 11, emergency Services were called to reports of a man in the River Mersey, adjacent to Woolston Waste Disposal Centre, Warrington.
"Police, fire and ambulance attended and sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
