A man has been rushed to hospital following a serious assault which police are referring to as a 'targeted attack.'
Police responded to reports of the assault on Meldrum Street in Clydebank at around 5.30am on Saturday, May 21.
The 25-year-old man was treated for a head injury at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Police Scotland officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and will review any relevant CCTV.
Detective Constable Thomas O’Donnell said: “We believe this is a targeted attack and it’s imperative we trace whoever is responsible.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Meldrum Street in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact us with any information they may have.
"Any small piece of information could prove vital to our investigation so please do pass it on.”
