A man has been arrested and another man has been rushed to hospital following a 'disturbance' on a street in Glasgow.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, swooped on Victoria Road in the south side of the city shortly before 3pm today after the alarm was raised of commotion in the area.
Locals reported a hefty police presence in the vicinity while the incident took place, with multiple cop cars and vans in attendance. A chunk of pavement is also believed to have been sealed off, while uniformed officers stood guard.
A 69-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by paramedics to receive treatment as a result. The extent of his injuries are not yet know, nor is his current condition.
A 35-year-old man was also arrested in relation to the event. Officers have since launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances surrounding what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 2.45pm on Wednesday, 21 September, to a report of a disturbance in the Victoria Road area of Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 69-year-old man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.
“A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at court on Thursday, 22 September.”
