Man rushed to hospital after workplace accident at Intel

A man was rushed to hospital after a workplace accident in the early hours of this morning at Intel in Leixlip.

It happened at around 4:30am on the construction site. The man in his 30s was rushed to Connolly Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The Health Safety Authority has been notified and a safety review is now underway at Intel.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai attended a workplace accident, that occurred on in Leixlip, at approximately 4:30am, this morning, Friday 23rd September 2022.

"A man in his 30s was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries which are non-life threatening. The Health Safety Authority has been notified."

A spokeswoman for Intel said: "There was an accident this morning at the construction site and a person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"A safety review is now underway at the site."
