Man rushed to hospital after violent attack next to toilet on Manchester train

A man has had to undergo dental surgery after being violently assaulted while onboard a Stockport train.

At around 10pm on Saturday, April 29, a 43-year-old man was assaulted as he was standing next to a toilet onboard a train as it travelled between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport stations.

The man remains in a concussed state and has suffered severe eye pain as a result of the injuries he sustained in the attack.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for any witnesses with information on the assault to come forward in a bid to help them in their investigation.

A BTP spokesperson said: “British Transport Police officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault on board a train between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport stations.

“At around 10pm on the evening of Saturday 29 April, the victim, a 43-year-old man was standing next to the onboard toilet when he was violently assaulted.

“He remains concussed with severe eye pain and requires dental surgery as a result of the injuries he sustained in the attack.

“Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or has any information, to come forward and assist the investigation.”
