Man rushed to hospital after early morning street brawl as cops scour CCTV for suspects

A man has been rushed to hospital after being injured during an early morning street brawl in Edinburgh.

Police were called to the scene on Leith Walk - near the junction with Princes Street - at around 2.50am on Friday June 17.

A 23-year-old, who was hurt during the ‘disturbance’, was taken to hospital for medical treatment however his current condition is not known.

Investigators believe several people may have been involved and that other members of the public may have been targeted by the attackers.

Detective Sergeant Keith Taylor said: “We can see from CCTV images that other people may have been involved and I am asking these members of the public to contact us.

“I am sure their information will assist in our investigation. If you were in Princes Street at its junction with Leith Street in the early hours of this morning, please get in touch with us.

“Any small piece of information could prove vital.”
