A man has been rushed to hospital after an attack on a Scots high street earlier today.
Emergency services raced to the incident on High Street in Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, at 5.10pm today. On their arrival, a 32-year-old man was found injured.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to his injuries. His current condition is unknown.
Inquiries into the assault remain ongoing.
In the meantime, the stretch of road is currently closed between St Mary's Way and Riverside Lane. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received report of a 32-year-old man having been assaulted on High Street in Dumbarton around 5.10pm on Monday, July 18.
“The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
"The road is closed between St Mary’s Way and Riverside Lane.”
