A man has been rushed to hospital after a car smashed into an Aldi store in Rathmines this morning.
The incident happened at 7.30am on Monday morning on Rathmines Road Lower, when a car crashed through a bollard box and bus stop before smashing into the Aldi store's front window with glass littering the ground. A garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live that one man was brought to hospital for treatment, and there are no reports of any other injuries.
Aldi has confirmed that its store in Rathmines will remain closed this morning due to the earlier incident, and they expect to reopen later this afternoon. They said in a statement: "Dear customers, our Rathmines store remains closed this morning following an earlier incident.

"We hope to re-open as normal this afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience."
A garda spokesman told Dublin Live that they attended the scene of the incident earlier this morning. He said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the Rathmines Road Lower, Dublin 6, this morning, 20th March 2023 at approximately 7.30am. A man was taken to hospital for treatment.
"There are no other reports of injuries at this time. The road has now reopened. Enquiries are ongoing."
