A man was rushed to hospital last night after being hit by a bus in East Kilbride.
Emergency services were alerted to Murray Road at 6.50pm on Thursday following reports of the collision.
The pedestrian was reportedly lying in the road, near to the Murray Bar, as shocked locals rushed to his aid.
One eye-witness said: "Looks like a man has been hit by the bus, he was lying in the road lots of people helping. Hope he’s ok."
A woman who was held up in traffic said: "I got caught in it too. Couldn't see anything but a double and single decker plus the emergency services. Hope whoever it is, is OK!
Police confirmed the man was taken to Wishaw General Hospital as a precaution and that no one else was injured in the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6.50pm on Thursday, June 22, to a report of a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian on The Murray Road, East Kilbride.
“Emergency services attended and a man, the pedestrian, was taken to Wishaw Hospital as a precaution. No one else was injured.
“The road was closed and re-opened around 7.45pm.”
