Man rushed to hospital after being hit by a fallen lamppost on Glasgow street

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a fallen lamppost in Glasgow.

The incident happened on Kirklee Road, with emergency services racing to the scene shortly after 4pm today (June 20).

The Record reports, that the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Images show officers taping off the area as workmen stand near to what appears to be the fallen lamppost.

The road is currently closed between Mirrlees Drive and Cleveden Drive.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report that a man had been injured on Kirklee Road, Glasgow, around 4.25pm on Tuesday, 20 June, 2023.

“The man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

“Bellshaugh Road is closed between Mirrlees Drive and Cleveden Drive.”
